Jean-Claude Martineau (Koralen) eksplike poukisa li nesesè valorize kilti ayisyen anfas yon inondasyon kilti etranje (sitou kilti Etazini) k ap anvayi peyi a. Yo pito achte kònflèk pase yo manje kasav, lalo, diri ak pwa; yo gade fim ki valorize sèks, machinn, dwòg, ak zam; yo mete rad pèpè pase yo achte rad ki fèt an Ayiti. Konsa, lajan ayisyen pa rete an Ayiti; li ale lòt bò dlo. Martineau souliye poukisa Ayiti dwe ekspòte pwòp pwodwi pa l, pa sèlman enpòte bagay soti lòt bò dlo. Menm si Martineau pa fin fou pou mizik rap, li panse Fugees ak Wyclef Jean bon pou Ayiti. Jean Dominique li menm, li gen yon pwoblèm avèk mizik rap; li mete l nan menm kategori avèk kònflèk ak diri ameriken, menm si li rekonèt se mizik rezistans nwa ameriken yo kont blan k ap domine yo. Yo pale kesyon kreyòl ayisyen: gen anpil moun k ap dilye lang kreyòl la avèk fransè, epi yo sèvi avèk kreyòl la pou yo di betiz. Yo pale tou sou boujwazi ayisyen an, ki an jeneral pa fè anyen pou amelyore sityasyon peyi a. Presyon pou chanje sosyete a ap oblije soti nan baz.
Jean-Claude Martineau (Koralen) discusses the need to valorize Haitian culture amid an invasion of foreign (particularly US) cultural influence. Haitian people are taught that American food, music, and films are better than anything Haiti produces. They spend their money on cornflakes rather than eating cassava, lalo, or rice and beans; they consume films that glamorize sex, cars, drugs, and guns; they wear pèpè clothes rather than buying Haitian-made clothing. And so Haitian money does not stay in Haiti; it flows to other countries. Martineau underlines the need for Haiti to export its products, not only to import. While Martineau is not a rap fan, he thinks the Fugees and Wyclef Jean are good for Haiti. Jean Dominique, however, has a problem with rap music, which is in the same category as cornflakes and US rice, even as he recognizes that it is music of Black resistance to white domination. They also discuss the use of Haitian Creole: how people are diluting the Creole language with French, and using Creole for obscenity and vulgarity. They discuss the Haitian elite, the majority of whom have not done anything to improve the country. Pressure to change society will have to come from below.
