  • Jean Dominique interviews Pierre Alix Macajoux and Fontrose Christophe, two men from La Chapelle, on problems facing Lachapelle. Macajoux states that the infrastructure is so lacking, there are no public buildings for schools. Classes are held in private buildings in poor condition. Additionally, despite its proximity to the Artibonite river, the arable land in La Chapelle is not being irrigated. They discuss the importance of increasing agricultural production and the importance of land to build new public buildings and for agriculture. They also discuss the violence they were subjected to during the coup d'etat years.
