Nouréini Tidjani-Serpos, president of UNESCO's executive board, discusses the Slave Route project, including the construction of the House of Slaves and Door of No Return on Gorée Island, Senegal, and broader efforts to commemorate and remember the trans-Atlantic slave trade. He also discusses other UNESCO collaborations in Haiti, including radio coverage, preservation of historical buildings and monuments, and education projects, as well as cultural and historical connections between Haiti and Tidjani-Serpos's homeland of Benin.
Nouréini Tidjani-Serpos, président du conseil exécutif de l’UNESCO, parle du projet « La Route de l’Esclave », qui comprend la construction d’une Maison des Esclaves et de la Porte du Voyage Sans Retour, sur l’ile de Gorée, au Sénégal, ainsi que d’autres efforts pour commémorer et se souvenir de la traite négrière. Il parle aussi d’autres collaboration de l’UNESCO avec Haïti, comme le projet du réseau de radios, la conservation des bâtiments et momuments historiques, des projets d’éducation, ainsi que des liens culturels et historiques entre Haïti et le Bénin, pays natal de Tidjani-Serpos.
