  • Jean Dominique and Laënnec Hurbon discuss the importance of UNESCO’s project to retrace the voyage of enslaved African people. He addresses the lack of initiative to recall in detail how enslaved people arrived to their final destinations as well as the history they had created for themselves prior to being uprooted. He talks about how this project will break the silence that has been used a political tool, and how it might serve to keep history from repeating itself. They also speak about the role of religion in the spread of slavery.
