  • On International Creole Day, Sony Estéus interviews activist for Martinican Creole, culture, and politics Richard Chateau-Dégat, vice-president of World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters in Latin America José Ignacio López Vigil, and coordinator of the Sosyete Animasyon Kominikasyon Sosyal (SAKS) in Haiti Joseph Georges. Chateau-Dégat discusses the current situation of the Creole language in Martinique and compares it to the situation when he was growing up. López Vigil, who is based in Ecuador but is of Cuban origin, explains how using one's mother tongue can help the development of a people, based on his experience with indigenous languages in Latin America. Georges explains how Creole can help Haitian people and their communities fight for economic and cultural change.

  • À l’occasion de la Journée Internationale du Créole, Sony Estéus rencontre Richard Chateau-Dégat, un militant martiniquais, José Ignacio López Vigil, originaire de Cuba et vivant en Équateur, vice président de l’Association Mondiale des Radio Communautaires en Amérique Latine, et Joseph Georges, coordonnateur de la Société d’Animation et de Communication Sociale (SAKS) en Haïti. Château-Dégat explique la situation de la langue créole en Martinique actuellement et il la compare à ce qu’elle était dans son enfance. López Vigil explique, à partir de son expérience avec les langues indigènes en Amérique Latine, comment la langue maternelle aide une personne à se développer. Georges dit que la langue créole peut aider le peuple et la communauté à se battre pour un changement économique et culturel en Haïti.
