They view Aristide and the Lavalas party's acceptance of neoliberal policy to be against the interest of the Haitian masses. They also discuss the plight of rural farmers who depend on local landowners and who effectively work as sharecroppers, and the failure of agrarian reform. Dominique speaks of the closure of the Pharval laboratories after the discovery of poisoned cough syrup and irrigation projects, and asks if this is not evidence of the state beginning to take responsibility.
