Poet and playwright Syto Cavé discusses the convergence of politics and culture, particularly his production "60 ans d'histoire," which brings together elements of theatre, music, dance, and puppetry. They talk about freedom of speech, Haitian culture, and of the things that can be expressed and represented through art -- social commentary and criticism of the government and the powerful -- that cannot be said directly. They discuss the 1940s (Léscot and Estimé), the anti-Macoute and anti-Duvalier stance of Cavé's work, and the threat posed by mediocrity.
