  • Jean Dominique interviews representatives of three òganizasyon popilè from Port-au-Prince's poor neighborhoods -- Claude Dubique of KRAKE (Konbit Rezistans Alye Konsekan Entegre), Ernst Télémaque of KRZF (Konbit Rezistans Zòn Fò Nasyonal), and Leslie Orcel of FALN (Fwon Alexis pou Liberasyon Nasyonal, named for Jacques Stephen Alexis) -- about the problems OPs face as they attempt to prevent Macoutes from returning to power. According to the speakers, President René Préval is less connected to the OPs than Aristide was. The OPs feel the government no longer supports them and is instead courting other interests, as Préval tells the private sector that Macoutism and economic modernization are incompatible. The guests acknowledge that there are many opportunistic OPs that are seeking favors from the government without doing anything for the people whose interests they are supposed to represent. Meanwhile, the Macoute elements of society continue exploit divisions (the guests point to problems in the municipal governments of Port-au-Prince, Delmas, and Carrefour). They also denounce the neoliberal plan for Haiti, which means privatization of state enterprises, opening markets, lowering tariffs, and foreign investment. Jean Dominique explains the importance of the OPs being able to defend Haiti's interests and domestic production when confronted by a foreign agenda (particularly the US agenda) that seeks to promote its own interests.

  • Jean Dominique rencontre des représentants de trois organisations populaires des quartiers défavorisés de Port-au-Prince – Claude Dubique qui représente KRAKE (Un combite de résistance conséquent), Ernst Télémaque du KRZF (Un combite de résistance de la région de Fort National) et Leslie Orcel du FALN (Front Alexis de Libération Nationale, ainsi nommé en l’honneur de Jacques Stéphen Alexis). Ils discutent des problèmes qu’affrontent les OP alors qu’elles tentent de barrer la route aux macoutes, pour qu’ils ne reprennent pas le pouvoir. D’après eux, le président Préval laisse se distendre les tiens entre les OP et l’état, par rapport à ce qui existait sous Aristide. Les OP ne sentent pas appuyées de la même façon par l’état. D’après eux, Préval semble avoir d’autres intérêts parce qu’il a déclaré au secteur privé que la modernisation économique ne peut aller de pair avec le macoutisme. Les invités reconnaissent qu’il existe de nombreuses OP opportunistes, qui recherchent les faveurs du gouvernement sans rien faire pour la population qu’ils doivent défendre. Pendant ce temps, les éléments macoutes de la société continuent à exploiter les divisions (les invités citent les cas des Mairies de Port-au-Prince, Delmas et Carrefour). Ils dénoncent le plan néolibéral, qui veut la privatisation des entreprises publiques, le marché libre, la baisse des tarifs, et l’investissement étranger. Jean Dominique explique l’importance pour les OP de défendre les intérêts d’Haïti, la production nationale, lorsqu’ils font face à un agenda étranger (surtout américain) qui se préoccupe de ses propres intérêts.
