  • Three leaders of the grassroots group Cercle Socio-Culturel des Amis de Paix (CESOCAP) -- Francklin Blanchard, Carlo Joseph, and Fritz Joseph -- discuss life in Cité Soleil and the insecurity and violence that affect their community. They discuss how the enemies of social change play with people's minds, creating a climate of fear and distrust. The chimères of Cité Soleil -- groups like Lame Wouj -- are armed by those same enemies of change; this represents a strategy of destabilization. Contrary to what many people believe, the population of Cité Soleil is not opposed to the police. The conflict between the legislative branch and the executive branch is part of the problem, as is the fact that many of these enemies have "moun pa" (insiders) in the government. Dysfunction and corruption in the justice system encourage impunity. They also discuss corruption within grassroots groups (organisations populaires).

  • Trois leaders d’une organisation populaire, le Cercle Socio-Culturel des Amis de Paix (CESOCAP) -- Francklin Blanchard, Carlo Joseph, ak Fritz Joseph – discutent de leur vie à Cité Soleil, de l’insécurité et de la violence qui frappent le quartier. Ils expliquent comment les ennemis du changement social se jouent de la population, pour créer un climat de peur et de méfiance. Ce sont les mêmes qui fournissent des armes aux chimères de Cité Soleil, comme le groupe Lame Wouj (L’armée rouge), ce qui est une tactique de destabilisation. Contrairement à ce qu’on croit, la population de Cité Soleil n’est pas opposée à la police. Le conflit entre le parlement et l’exécutif fait partie du problème, tout comme le fait que ces ennemis du changement social ont leur partisans dans le gouvernement. Le système judiciaire ne fonctionne pas bien, il est gangrené par la corruption et il encourage l’impunité. Ces leaders abordent aussi le problème de la corruption au sein des organisations populaires.
