  • Jean Dominique interviews Father Hugo Triest and Chenet Jean-Baptiste, members of the directing committee of the Plateforme des Organisations Haïtiennes de Défense des Droits Humains (Platform of Haitian Human Rights Organizations, POHDH). POHDH will be meeting to brainstorm on the political and economic direction Haiti is taking. They have three specific points in mind: neoliberal propositions and negative effects they have had on other countries, the contents of a proposed structural adjustment plan, and the stance that the human rigths sector will take. They discuss the effects of structural adjustment programs on domestic production and agricultural production.

  • Jean Dominique discute avec le Père Hugo Triest et Chenet Jean-Baptiste, deux membres du comité directeur de la Plateforme des Organisations Haïtiennes des Droits Humains (POHDH). La Plateforme va organiser une rencontre pour discuter des positions politiques et économiques prises par Haïti. Ils ont trois points spécifiques à l’ordre du jour : la proposition néolibérale et ses conséquences négatives dans d’autres pays, le contenu du programme d’ajustement structurel proposé, et la place que le secteur des droits humains compte occuper. Ils parlent aussi des effets du programme d’ajustement structurel sur la production nationale et la production agricole.
