Anpil moun ap vole kouran, sitou moun nan gouvènman. Lidè sendika a kwè privatizasyon ka fè pwoblèm sa vini pi grav.
Jean Harry Clerveau, the leader of the worker’s union for the EDH (Haiti Electric Company), is leading a fight against the privatization of EDH because it would increase the corruption that already infiltrates the company. When EDH became state owned in 1971, a high initial government investment increased access to electricity in many areas. Profit generation led to corruption which halted progress and the development of EDH was stunted. Energy is being siphoned by many, including goverment officials. Union leaders believe that privatization would exacerbate these issues.
