Interview with Zeng Qingxing

Zeng Qingxing said that in 1958 during the Great Leap Forward movement, trees were all cut off to burn the iron furnace. The Commune Canteen started in 1959, for three years, it only served very think congee, many people died of starvation. His mother went blind after giving birth to him and starved to death in 1961.

曾庆兴说58年大办钢铁时把田里的大树都被砍倒了。59年开始吃食堂，三年中只有稀粥，好多人饿死。他他的娘是生他之后瞎的, 61年饿死了。
