Interview with Yu Xiantang

Yu Xiantang (b. 1926) is a resident of Diaoyutai Village, Yindian Town, Suizhou City, Hubei Province. She is one of the oldest interviewees. In this interview, Yu talks about her memory of the Great Famine, including People's Commune Canteen in 1958, people who starved to death in every production team, and her daughter-in-law who cooked chaff in the pillow.

余先堂（1926年生）是湖北省随州市殷店镇钓鱼台村村民, 是受访的最为年长的老人之一。在这段口述中, 余老人讲述了她对大饥荒的记忆, 包括1958年的集体食堂、每个生产队上饿死了的人、还有她儿媳妇拿枕头里的糠做饭的情况。
