YUAN Kuanzhen (b. 1941) is a resident of Jiangwan Village, Shaanxi Province. In this interview, Yuan recalls that people didn't have energy to work on fields. So they often just lay there without doing any work. In order to pay less taxes in grains, production teams didn't like to have more land allocated to them.
