Wang Qin (b.1920) is a resident of Poyang Village, Linying County, Luohe City, Henan Province.During the Land Reform Movement, Wang’s family was classified as rich peasant. She suffered through eating at eating halls and Cultural Revolution, but could not remember their details due to her age. Her son remembers that, in 1958, he was only two or three years old, and he was so hungry that he could not walk. He picked up cow dungs on the road and searched for wheat in them. Wang’s son also says that many local people went to work on the reservoir and many were starved to death there.
