Tang Xishu (b. 1950) is a resident of Jimingqiao Village, Baiyun Town, Shimen County, Hunan Province. In this interview, Tang recalls his father, who was beaten for being reluctant to join the mutual aid team, and his older brother, who committed suicide because he was reproached by the production team leader for selling wild herb to road workers. Tang also talks about a peer villager, who died of starvation with his eyes open.
唐西树(1950年生)是湖南省石门县白云乡鸡鸣桥村村民。在这段口述中,唐老人讲述了自己父亲因为不愿意入互助合作社被批斗殴打,自己哥哥1958年挖野菜卖给修公路的人、被生产队干部斥责后上吊自杀的情况。唐老人还谈到了一位饿死后不瞑目的同龄人。
