Shu Hengzhang (b.1948) is a resident of Shuangjing Village, Shuangjing Town, Xupu County, Huaihua City, Hunan Province. In this interview, Shu recalls experiences during the Great Famine and Cultural Revolution. On the day grandpa starved to death in 1961, his father and he encountered thieves who stole cattles from the Production Team. He also remembers some people who starved to death. During the Cultural Revolution, they had to ask for instructions in the morning and report results in the evening, and sing different songs.
舒恒章1948年出生,是湖南省怀化市溆浦县双井镇双井村的村民。在这段口述中,舒老人回忆了大饥荒和文革时的经历。1961年外公饿死的那天,他和父亲遇到了从生产队偷牛的小偷。他也记得几个当时饿死的人。文革时要早请示晚汇报,还唱不同的歌。
