Li Yinzhen (b. 1944) is a resident of Zhuxiangkou Village, Baiyun Town, Shimen County, Hunan Province. In this interview, Li recalls that her family suffered from hunger when eating at the people’s commune canteen, and thus her father died, her mother went blind, and one of her sisters die of smallpox. Li also talks about some villagers, who escaped from the reservoir construction site because of starvation.
李银珍(1944年生)是湖南省石门县白云乡竹巷口村村民。在这段口述中,李老人回忆兴办公社食堂时期,自己还未出嫁,全家姐妹七人和父母一起挨饿,结果父亲病逝,一个妹妹得天花去世,母亲因病失明。李老人还讲述了修水库的村民因为挨饿偷跑回家的情况。
