Interview with Li Faxian

Li Faxian (b.1940) is a resident of Wanbaochang Village, Tongchang Town, Yimen County, Yunnan Province. Her family belonged to the landlord and rich farmer class, she experienced discriminition and was under supervision at people's commune. She had less share of food, but worked more. She got married in 1959 and moved to this village. Her husband's family was in poor farmer class. Her share of food was about 100 grams per day, she ate all sort of wild vegetables. No one in the village died of starvation. The cadres had better food than everyboday else.

李发仙1940年生。她那时的家庭成分是地主富农。人民公社时期一直受监督受歧视，大饥荒期间口粮也比其他人家分得少，干活要比别人家重。她1959年嫁到该村，丈夫的家庭成分好。她说饥荒时她本人口粮只有二三两，吃过各种野菜。当时该村没有人饿死，村里的干部比群众吃得好。
