Jiang Qiuyun (b.1939) is a resident of Qujia Village, Yuqiao Town, Jingyang County, Shaanxi Province. In this interview, Jiang remembers life during the Great Famine. There was not enough food at the People’s Commune canteen, and people ate all kinds of things. At that time she worked at the agricultural cooperative, and her children were left with people who looked after children for work points, or be brought to the field with her.
