Interview with Hu Haiquan

Hu Haiquan (b.1930) was born in Hengyang City, Hunan Province. In this interview, Hu talks about the experience of his father (the interviewer’s great uncle) who ran to Jiangxi Province but was sent back after being caught. He also remembers that some people got edema disease due to starvation; without enough nutrition, young women stopped having periods.

胡海泉1930年出生于湖南省衡阳市。在这段口述中，胡老人讲述了大饥荒时父亲（采访者的叔公）逃到江西又被送回来的经历。他还回忆了当时有的人饿的得水肿病，并且年轻女人因为缺乏营养都不来月经。
