Huang Yuqiang (b.1931) is a resident of Zhaixia Village, Pengzhai Town, Heping County, Heyuan City, Guangdong Province. Huang was born in Shangtongkeng. He was the only child at home but his parents, because of poverty, sold him to a landlord in Tangwu. Later he was sold to Jiangxi. After being classified as a landlord and deprived of properties, Huang was banished to Zhaixia Village and stayed watched for the next twenty-five years. He was denounced day and night and paraded in the village. He got no subsidies after being vindicated in 1978. Huang also remembers that he got the worst field and no other properties; he only carried sedan chairs and ploughed field to earn a scanty income.
