Interview with Huang Yun

Huang Yun (b.1929) is a resident of Zhaixia Village, Pengzhai Town, Heping County, Heyuan City, Guangdong Province. After the communization, people got porridge from the eating hall. But children would not eat the watery porridge, so they had to recook it to make it thicker. Huang was so hungry that she got sick and went to eat at the elderly home. Sometimes she got a rare potato from the wild, which was snatched away. Many old people starved to death. They had no money to buy any kind of food.

黄运（1929年生）是广东省河源市和平县彭寨镇寨下村村民。公社化以后，人们从食堂领粥吃，但粥太稀了，小孩不愿意吃，只能烧稠一点给他们。黄老人曾经饿得病了，去养老院吃饭才好一些。有时候好不容易挖到番薯，又被没收，很多老人饿死了，没钱买东西吃。
