- Irene Halsman is the daughter of Yvonne and Philippe Halsman, a photographer for Life Magazine with and friend of Eugene Smith. Yvonne Halsman was the wife of Philippe Halsman. She occasionally helped Eugene Smith make prints. In this oral history, Steve Bello, Yvonne Halsman, and Irene Halsman talk about W. Eugene Smith's work, his professional relationships with Life Magazine and Magnum, and his personality. Hall Overton's involvement with Salvador Dali and Philippe Halsman's escape from Europe are also briefly discussed.
