Two diaries record Greene's travels and work as minister of the Brunswick Circuit, especially in Brunswick and Greensville counties, Va. There are numerous references to congregations, class meetings, local preachers, Methodist men and women, and Greene's religious thoughts and personal feelings. Occasional references include ministry to African Americans, and preachers James O'Kelly, James Meacham, and Edward Dromgoole. The cover of one journal includes "E. Greene, his wife."
