- De iis qui ad Ecclesiam ab haereticis accedunt. Selections
- Date:

- Creator:
- TimotheusI, Patriarch of Constantinople, -517.
- Description:
-
Forms part of the Kenneth Willis Clark Collection of Greek Manuscripts (David M. Rubenstein Rare Book & Manuscript Library, Duke University)
Format: Manuscript fragment.
Title supplied by cataloger.
Layout: Written in 2 columns of 33 lines; 33 lines ruled with a dry point on the hair side; pricking marks are visible at the fore edge, head and tail.
Script: Written in a very fine squarish hand with a slightly backward slant; accents small, distinctive, with breathings almost square. Notable are some of the minuscules--the epsilon has a distinctive, strong terminal at the top when the scribe commences the down stroke of the bow of the letter form, and the eta, nu, and kappa are remarkably similar in appearance. Marginal notes and section numbers are in small uncials.
Decoration: None, except for the enlarged letters in the margins at the beginning of each section, which is numbered in Greek uncials in the margin opposite the appropriate section.
Title cataloged from existing description.
Originally the final free flyleaf in a Byzantine binding. Dark stains on the verso, i.e. the flesh side, of the leaf have been left by the turn-ins and the fore edge anchorages for the triple-thong anchorages, left untrimmed and unbraided and not drawn through the endsheet.
