Forms part of the Kenneth Willis Clark Collection of Greek Manuscripts (David M. Rubenstein Rare Book & Manuscript Library, Duke University)
Format: Manuscript leaves.
Title supplied by cataloger.
Layout: Written in 2 columns of 28 lines.
Script: The script is short and rounded with a slight slant to the left and frequent backhooks to the right in deep brown ink. A later hand in black has added notes and retraced faded text. The hand appears to be the same as Duke Greek MS 43.
Decoration: Ornamental intials in red ink, measuring as high as five lines of text.
Decoration added at a later date: Ornamental running penwork in the outer margin in a dark black ink.
Title cataloged from existing description.
Includes 5th Sunday of John (fol. 1r-1v) and 3rd Sunday-6th Sunday of Lent (fol. 2r-5v)
Binding: Binding of blind-stamped black (dark brown) goatskin over wooden boards, ca. 1600. Metal ornaments of 2 Byzantine crosses, each set with 10 garnets with crown-like bosses at each corner. The original binding is now separated from the leaves. The interior of the binding preserves both the original sewing and repairs for the multiple quires that made up the codex. At least twenty quires are wanting (determined by counting the sewings). Duke Greek MS 43 was also found in the same binding.
