Script: Written by 3 scribes; Scribe I (original text which consists of fol. 37-219v) in open, very legible, regular flowing cursive, pendant, vertical hand; Scribe II has added the missing quires at the beginning, fol. 1-36r and at the end fol. 219, at the end in a slightly smaller, but flowing, slightly rightward slanting pendant hand; Scribe III has inserted two bifolia on paper, fol. 220-223, the hand is typical of a utilitarian ductus, rapidly written, rightward slanting.
Decoration: In the work of both Scribes I and II, the only ornaments are simple rectangular, bar, and pi headpieces, along with accented wavy lines and all, including musical notations, are in red. Both Scribes I and II have ornamental initials in a red ink in the outer margins, but Scribe I has particularly elaborate initials, measuring as high as 8 lines.
