- Title:
- William H. Willimon - "Our Failure, God's Success" 11:00 am (April 22, 2001)
- Description:
-
Sermon start time: 00:06. Sermon end time: 16:21.
Failure is a fact of human existence, and in the modern world, it is a particularly painful fact, because we have come to believe that everything that happens (including failure) is a result of our action. The story of Jesus' death and resurrection, however, teaches that, in the face of the greatest failure, God shows up in surprising and powerful ways. (Abstract created by Duke Divinity School staff.)
Key quotation: “God is not going to be stumped by us or our sin. The world is not going to be fixed by our failure.”
