He argues that when Jesus turns water to wine in John’s gospel, he is presented as the Messiah who brings people close to the glory of God. The preacher wants his audience to stop trivializing Jesus’ actions and to repent from relying on their own work for salvation, rather than looking to Jesus as the savior.
