- | For your presence in our lives. | 0:02 |
But then we think of all those who feel | 0:07
your absence. | 0:11 | |
Those that feel lonely. | 0:14
Cut off from other people. | 0:17
Cut off from themselves. | 0:20
From you. | 0:22 | |
We thank you for your word. | 0:26
And think of all the ways we that we close | 0:29
our ears to your word. | 0:31
And we admit, | 0:33 | |
we would rather hear your word | 0:34
than do your word. | 0:38 | |
And now God we come to you in prayer. | 0:45
Because we have been reminded in the scripture, | 0:50
and in the sermon | 0:52 | |
of the every day gift of life and bread. | 0:55
But we come to you in prayers for others, | 1:01
because we remember the millions, | 1:03
who have none. | 1:07 | |
Oh giver of bread. | 1:13 | |
Help us to see all the gifts that we have been given. | 1:17
And then help us see these gifts | 1:24
as responsibilities for others. | 1:26
Help us to see the ways in our selfishness, | 1:31
and inquisitiveness denies others | 1:34
their share in your bounty. | 1:38
Help us to see their gaunt faces too. | 1:43
We pray for the hungry. | 1:49
We pray for the empty. | 1:53
For the suffering. | 1:58
Can God set a table in the wilderness? | 2:03
Yes. | 2:11 | |
Thus we believe. | 2:14 | |
And so we have come to you in prayers | 2:18
for those who live in the wilderness, | 2:25
those who are empty. | 2:28
Our brothers and sisters who are hungry. | 2:32
We have prayed for them. | 2:37
And for ourselves. | 2:40
Amen. | 2:43 | |
- | Now as a forgiven and reconciled people, | 2:50 |
let us offer ourselves and our gifts to God. | 2:53
(choral music) | 3:16 | |
- | Oh God. | 10:55 |
You have provided for us. | 10:57
You have sustained us, | 10:59
and carried us through the wilderness, | 11:01
with your love. | 11:03 | |
Out of gratitude for all the gifts | 11:05
that you give us in life. | 11:07
We offer these gifts to you in your name, | 11:08
use them, | 11:13 | |
and use us | 11:13 | |
in your service we pray. | 11:15
Praying in the name of our lord and savior | 11:18
who had mercy upon the hungry, | 11:20
Jesus, | 11:24 | |
who taught us to pray. | 11:25
Our father, | 11:28 | |
who art in heaven. | 11:29
Hallowed be thy name. | 11:31
Thy kingdom come. | 11:33
Thy will be done | 11:35 | |
on earth, | 11:37 | |
as it is in heaven. | 11:38
Give us this day our daily bread. | 11:41
And forgive us our trespasses | 11:44
as we forgive those who trespass against us. | 11:47
And lead us not into temptation. | 11:51
But deliver us from evil. | 11:54
For thine is the kingdom, | 11:57
the power and the glory. | 11:59
Forever. | 12:02 | |
Amen. | 12:04 | |
(choral music) | 12:09 | |
- | And now may the love and grace of God, | 16:08 |
the care of our lord and savior, | 16:12
Jesus Christ go with you as you go forth. | 16:13
Amen. | 16:17 | |
(choral music) | 16:23 |
