Description:
This is a memorial in Hialeah Gardens, Florida commemorating four civilian pilots who were shot down and killed in international waters in the Florida Straits by the Cuban government on February 24, 1996. Brothers to the Rescue was a non-governmental organization that used small planes to search the Florida Straits looking for Cuban rafters and radioing their location to U.S. Coast Guard authorities. They are credited with saving thousands of lives.
