Orestes Lorenzo, a former Cuban Air Force major, defected with his plane to the U.S. in 1990. A campaign to bring his family was then begun. This postcard showing his wife and children, was part of the effort by the Valladares Foundation to pressure the Cuban government for their release. In 1992, Mr. Lorenzo flew back to Cuba clandestinely and picked up his family at a prearranged location and then flew them out of Cuba to Florida.
