About the Digital Collection
Collection consists of a letter from Campbell to his son, accused of murder in Ala. The father believed that a runaway slave had committed the murder. Campbell then criticized Judge Benjamin Estil for alleged injustice, as well as for alleged personal misconduct and insanity. Estil was judge for the 15th judicial district of Virginia.
