Political cartoon by Eugene Tucker Jr. depicting Locke Craig standing on the "Democratic platform" labeled "Peace", with front pillars labeled "Aycock", "Glenn" on one, and "Simmons" on the other. Behind Craig is the sun rising over two mountain peaks, with the rays labeled "For the people of N.C." Two paths connect Craig's figure to the background. One path "The way he came" leads from "The home of Christianity" and the other "The way he goes" leads to the Capitol. In the foreground are two groups, separated by race. The all-white group depicts six figures labeled: "Farmer; Business man; Manufacturer; Working man; Women; Children" who make pro-Craig statements. The all-Black group of seven figures, stereotypically drawn, are labeled: "Geo H. White, Congressman"; "Police"; "Callins Senator" (or "Senator Callins"); "Register of Deeds"; "Coroner"; "Alder-man" and "Deputy Sheriff". Under the figures is the caption: "He helped to make us go way back and sit down."
