A frank appeal, to heads and hearts

One-sided circular letter which provides specific reasons as to why Newton C. Blanchard "should not be elected governor of Louisiana." The writer, possibly H. Dickson Bruns, is a supporter of Blanchard's rival, General Jastremski, who, according to the author, appeals to the people, whereas Blanchard appeals to officials and grafters. The letter is dated circa 1903.
