Description:

  • Broadside informing of the recognition given by Humbert of Savoy to the "Liberal Brigade Ivanoe Bonomi" for his work on the liberation of the city, Rome. Umberto II or Humbert II (1904 - 181983), was the last King of Italy, reigning from 9 May to 12 June of 1946. However, he was de facto head of state from 1944 to 1946. Umberto was the only son of King Victor Emmanuel III, who, after the fall of Benito Mussolini's regime, was too tainted by his previous support of Fascism to have any further role, and transferred his powers to Umberto in 1944, naming him Lieutenant General of the Realm. However, Victor Emmanuel retained the title of king.
