  • Note extracted from the Blackburn Gazette of March 17, 1830, regarding the construction of a monument (erected by general subscription) in honor of the Reverend Thomas Henry Backhouse, First Minister of the Church of Blackburn, England, who died suddenly of a stroke of apoplexy, on September 22nd, 1828, when he was 39 years old. There is a transcription of the inscription on the monument.
