In memory of the Right Honorable George Canning, born April 11th, 1770, died August 8th, 1827.

In this document we can read an obituary in memoriam of George Canning, a British statesman and Tory politician who served in various senior cabinet positions under numerous Prime Ministers, before himself serving as Prime Minister for the final four months of his life. He attended Eton College and Christ Church, Oxford, entering politics in 1793 and rising rapidly. On the other side of the letter, handwritten, reads: Mr. Cunning inscription, Dec. 1833.
