The Battle of Falkirk. A short narrative of the Battle of Falkirk

In this broadsides we find two different accounts of the Battle of Falkirk. The first one, from the Caledonian Mercury, dated in Edinburgh on January 20, 1746. The second one, dated in Falkirk on January 17, same year, and and printed in Bannockburn. During the Jacobite rising of 1745 the Battle of Falkirk Muir was the last noteworthy Jacobite succes. The Battle, between the Highland Army of Prince Charles (around 5,000 highlanders) and the royal troops of George II (around 7,000 royal troops), was held on January 17 of 1746, on the moor to the south west of Falkirk, some ten miles south of Stirling in Scotland. Note: Not to confound with the Battle of Falkirk of 1298, (First Battle of Falkirk) one of the major battles in the First War of Scottish Independence.
