Mr. Edward Terry's tour. Forty thieves.

Broadside advertising the incoming tour of the actor Edward Terry performing in "The forty thieves". Edward O'Connor Terry (1844-1912) was an English actor, who became one of the most influential actors and comedians of the Victorian era. He made his debut in 1863 as Wormwood in The Lottery Ticket, and began his stage career in small companies in the provinces playing in Shakespeare with the young Henry Irving and sometimes in pieces employing his singing talents. In 1887 he went into management, opening Terry's Theatre. The Forty Thieves is a "Pantomime" written by Robert Reece, W. S. Gilbert, F. C. Burnand and Henry J. Byron, created in 1878 as an amateur production for the Beefsteak Club of London.
