This is one of the writings of Mrs Elinor James (1644-1719) a British printer and controversialist who used her own printing press to address public concerns throughout her adult life. Elinor opposed William III, Prince of Orange, taking a Jacobite stance. Around 1688 she had written, printed, and distributed a broadsheet accusing William III of ruling illegitimately, she was arrested and placed in Newgate Prison in 1689, but she did not relent.
