Proclamation that the “Primera Junta: (First Assembly), May 26, 1810, addressed to both, the inhabitants of the capital and the provinces under his command, giving news of the new authority arising from the events of the May Revolution. Signed by the members: President, Cornelio Saavedra ; Secretaries, Mariano Moreno and Juan José Paso Committee members, Manuel Alberti Miguel de Azcuénaga, Manuel Belgrano, Juan José Castelli, Domingo Matheu and Juan Larreain the Real Fortaleza de Buenos-Ayres á 26 de Mayo de 1810, and printed in Buenos-Ayres : en la Real Imprenta de Niños Expósitos. The First Assembly, was the first independent government of Argentina >, created on 25 May 1810, as a result of the events of the May Revolution . This Junta allegedly meant to govern in the name of the King of Spain, while he was imprisoned by Napoleon Bonaparte.
