Copy of a 1900 Wanamaker Diary in which an unidentified young woman has pasted newspaper clippings (1900-1904 and n.d.). Clipping topics are varied and primarily focus on advice for young women, including when to marry; wedding planning; proper female comportment; household, health, and beauty hints; and recipes for cosmetics. Assorted ephemera (1905 and n.d) stored in the front and back of the volume has been removed. These items include outlines for various parlor games, poetry, and miscellaneous materials. The Wanamaker diary includes pages printed with general information and facts about Philadelphia, the state of Pennsylvania, and the United States, which are accompanied by advertisements for Philadelphia businesses.
