About the Digital Collection
Letters from Thomas Benson of Kentucky and Ohio to his mother, sister Catherine, and brother John in Philadelphia in which he discusses family news and his conditions in Ohio and Kentucky. He speaks favorably of emigration to Kentucky. Included is a description of the siege of Fort Meigs on the Maumee River in Ohio during the War of 1812. Thomas Benson was wounded during this siege.
