Summary: Bill of sale for Rachel, "a negro woman ... about twenty five years of age" sold to B. Moody, "planter of the state of South Carolina" from John McNeal, "planter" of Columbus County, N.C. for the "sum of three hundred dollars" on January 3, 1828. Moody "assign[ed] over the written bill of sale to Isham Watson for the consideration of one hundred and fifty dollars" on January 11, 1828. The signature of Moody was "acknowledged" by D.T. Harlan on April 7, 1829. A postscript reads: South Carolina, Marion District. Recorded in book R, page 2, 13th April 1838 Ed. [B.?] Wheeler R.M.C.
