Summary: Warren County Court financial accounts related to the "advertising and selling a runaway slave named George who said he belongs to Augustin Stanley of Davidson County, Tennessee who was sold by order of this court on the 28th day of September 1863". Accounts are from R.G. Patten (jailer of Warren County) and S.S. Patten (sheriff of Warren County) and James H. Rose. Bill of sale in which "C. Maxwell principal and J.E. Mattingly security bind ourselves to pay the Commonwealth of Kentucky within twelve months from the date hereof, the sum of {dollar}206 & 00 cents". Also includes "statement of principal & interest of runaway slave George & expenses" and a testimony from R.G., S.S. Patten, and James H. Rose, filed in the Auditor's office, 26 April 1864. Most documents are "copy attest" by James H. Rose.
