Summary: Copy of a bill of sale for Andrew, an enslaved person, sold by Joseph E. Mulkey, deputy sheriff of Monroe County, Kentucky, to A.H. Maxey as the "principal", and R.J. Maxey as the "surety" on June 1, 1863. Andrew was sold for "three hundred and fifty dollars" payable to the commonwealth of Kentucky. Prior to being sold to Maney, Andrew was "taken as a runaway". Verso records three dates of payment made by Haney and the associated amounts. Signed on both sides by L.A. Smithwicke, Monroe County Circuit Court clerk.
