| Narrator | Do mothers know best? | 0:01 |
| Well here's a mother who believes so. | 0:03 | |
| Hollywood star Nancy Davis. | 0:05 | |
| In private life, Mrs. Ronald Reagan. | 0:07 | |
| - | Hello. | 0:09 |
| Tonight, you're gonna see something | 0:11 | |
| totally new to television. | 0:12 | |
| But first, meet a young mother who helped make it possible. | 0:14 | |
| This is Mrs. James Eshelman of Huntington beach, California. | 0:17 | |
| Joanne, you recently took part in a round table discussion. | 0:21 | |
| Did you know what it was for? | 0:25 | |
| - | Do you mean TV? | 0:27 |
| No, we didn't. | 0:28 | |
| We knew they were going to be taking some kind of pictures, | 0:29 | |
| but we didn't know they were for television. | 0:31 | |
| - | Well, I have some of those films right here. | 0:34 |
| You get the light, we'll start | 0:36 | |
| and you tell us what's happening. | 0:38 | |
| Joanne | Well, that's where we were coming in. | 0:43 |
| And that man was the moderator who led the discussion. | 0:46 | |
| Nancy | Oh yes. | 0:48 |
| And the cameras were behind the screen? | 0:50 | |
| Joanne | Yes, but we forgot all about them. | 0:52 |
| So we were perfectly frank sitting there | 0:54 | |
| talking about our children's teeth. | 0:56 | |
| Nancy | Let's listen to some of that discussion. | 0:59 |
| - | They had cavities in a lot of their baby teeth. | 1:01 |
| The oldest one has fillings in her permanent teeth. | 1:05 | |
| Moderator | Do any of you think the kind of toothpaste | 1:10 |
| you use can make a difference? | 1:12 | |
| - | I don't, no, I think it's the way you brush your teeth. | 1:14 |
| - | Really I don't think they have proven | 1:18 |
| there is any difference at all. | 1:20 | |
| Moderator | What brand do you use? | 1:22 |
| - | We change every time, but I get all the leading brands. | 1:23 |
| Moderator | How about the rest of you? | 1:28 |
| - | We use Crest and have for I would say | 1:30 |
| two and a half to three years. | 1:33 | |
| Moderator | Do you feel it can help reduce cavities? | 1:36 |
| - | I feel that if the dentist himself uses Crest, | 1:39 |
| which I think is, I remember back was the way I put it, | 1:41 | |
| "what kind do you use doctor?" | 1:44 | |
| rather than "what kind should I use?". | 1:46 | |
| I say well, if he uses it, | 1:48 | |
| then he must feel it's the best | 1:51 | |
| because he doesn't want to have cavities either. | 1:52 | |
| And we have not had any for three years. | 1:56 | |
| - | I guess you really have to prove it to me. | 1:59 |
| - | You should try using Crest then for a year. | 2:02 |
| Don't be changing every time you go to store. | 2:04 | |
| - | Well, that certainly was candid. | 2:10 |
| It's also good to know that facts and figures | 2:13 | |
| are on Crests' side. | 2:15 | |
| You've seen those testers on TV. | 2:17 | |
| Well, 10 years of clinical tests have proved | 2:19 | |
| that Crest is effective against cavities. | 2:22 | |
| So why take chances? | 2:24 | |
| Have regular checkups, watch between the old treats | 2:26 | |
| and brush often with Crest. | 2:29 | |
| Crest, for families who want fewer cavities. | 2:32 |
