Consists of papers of Pardee during his service with the 42nd Regiment, Ohio Infantry Volunteers. Pardee served from 1861, Sept.-1864, Nov., and was granted a leave of absence during June and July of 1863, due to a chronic eye disease contracted in the line of duty. After returning to his regiment in Aug. 1863, Pardee was relieved of active duty at Baton Rouge, La. Includes: ordnance accounts, orders, letters from officers requesting favors, appointment papers for Provost Marshall and Judge of East Baton Rouge, letter of resignation with attached surgeon's statement, and discharge certificates.
